Donate your scrap

Donating items to the Scrapstore instead of sending them to landfill builds sustainability, can save money on waste collections, and contributes to the local community.

It’s a win-win situation!

Businesses

Turn waste material into useful resources.

Does your business ever have waste materials that you think could be given a new purpose, but you don’t know what to do with them? [Click to read more]

Would you like to create a better environment for future generations, while at the same time reducing your carbon footprint and meeting your corporate social and environmental responsibilities?

Resourceful Community Scrapstore can take a variety of waste and surplus, as long as it has the potential to be reused for creative purposes.

This might include production off-cuts and by-products, rejected quality control batches, bankrupt and redundant stock, raw materials, components and packaging, and promotional items.

Have a look at our list below for the sort of items we can use. But get in touch if you aren’t sure or have something that isn’t on the list. Who knows what someone might make from your waste?

We can make sure everyone knows about your lovely donation, or we can keep it between ourselves – it’s up to you.

Individuals

We also welcome donations from individuals.

We know how easy it is to get carried away with buying crafting supplies so you end up with more than you could possibly need! [Click to read more]

Perhaps you needed two of a particular item to complete a project but they only come in a pack of 10, so now you have a eight of them sitting unused in your cupboard.

Maybe you bought, or were given, a craft kit, and it’s not bringing you joy – but you would feel guilty just throwing it away.

And what about those activities that your children have outgrown? Is there a drawer full of coloured pencils, glitter, plastic beads and loom bands waiting for someone to rediscover their creative possibilities?

Then there all those other random things we sometimes end up accidentally stockpiling – free chopsticks from the takeaway Chinese restaurant, curtain rings that you took off an old rail and thought you would keep “just in case”. Or perhaps those fake flowers that are looking a bit past their best, or don’t fit in with your décor anymore?

Nothing is too weird or wonderful for the Scrapstore!

However, if you’ve got something that isn’t on our list check with us first – we wouldn’t want you to have a wasted journey.

If we have too much of certain items in stock we may not have space to take your donation. We may ask you to try again in a month or so.
