Reuse one sheet of paper and create your own little book
What you need:
- 1 sheet of paper, plain on at least one side
- Scissors
You can use any size of paper, but an A5 leaflet makes a cute little notebook with space for a short story or some affirmations.
Step 1: Fold your paper into eighths
Start by folding your paper in half so it is long and skinny.
Fold long edge to long edge.
Then fold this in half, short edge to short edge.
And then fold it in half again, short edge to short edge.
Unfold the paper.
The eight separate panels will become the pages of your book.
Step 2: Cut the pages
Fold the paper in half once, short edge to short edge.
Place the paper so the folded edge is facing you.
Cut along the vertical fold seam in the middle of the paper until it meets the horizontal fold seam.
Make sure you don’t cut all the way across.
Then open up the paper again.
Step 3: Forming the notebook
Refold the paper, this time long edge to long edge.
The cut part of the paper should fall along the middle of the folded edge. Turn your paper so the cut edge is up in the air.
Push the two ends towards each other until you have 4 ‘wings’ moving outward from the centre, like a cross or an X.
Choose two adjacent ‘wings’ of the paper and push them towards each other, enclosing the other pages of the book inside them.
Your mini notebook is now ready to use.
Have fun writing your (mini) magnum opus!
