Five creative ways to reuse a leaflet

Fun and creative ways to cut down on waste paper

We thought long and hard about printing a leaflet to help us spread the word about the benefits of our scrapstore.

The last thing we want to do is add to the amount of paper that gets thrown away.

So, we’ve come up with a few suggestions of how you can reuse your Resourceful Community Scrapstore leaflet. Or any other scrap paper, for that matter.

  1. Simply use the back of the leaflet to write on – create a shopping list, a To Do list, leave a note for the milkman – it’s very versatile.
  2. For more sophisticated note-taking, why not fold it into a mini notebook (instructions below.)  Children might enjoy creating their own short story to fill the pages – don’t forget to draw an appealing front cover, and add some 5-star reviews on the back.
  3. Remember paper aeroplanes?  Channel your inner Bash Street Kid and get folding – if you’ve got a few leaflets hanging around why not try different designs and see which one goes furthest?
  4. Use it as a bookmark – either by simply folding it in half, or make it fancy by using the origami instructions below to create a bookmark corner.
  5. Make a handy storage pocket by folding the leaflet in half and stapling or taping the edges.  Perfect for keeping track of paper receipts or train tickets!

And when you are sure you’ve got every last scrap of use out of the leaflet, don’t forget to pop it in your recycling bin so it can be turned into something new.
